Is It God’s Will To Heal?
I still hear people ask the question,
“Is it God’s will to heal?”.
The answer is not found in God’s individually selective and seemingly arbitrary decision on who will and will not be healed.
Rather, it will be found in the Covenant in which we are now engaged with our Heavenly Father.
In the Old Covenant we were always looking for God to move.
We were awaiting some future time where a Savior would deliver us from sickness, disease, bondage, poverty, and any other oppressive force.
The Old Covenant was based upon FUTURE promises.
The New Covenant
…IS ALL PAST TENSE!!!
The Savior WAS sent and all of the promises WERE FULFILLED in Him.
Heb8:6: “BUT NOW …he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises”
2Cor1:20 “For ALL the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us”
We are oft led by the enemy of the cross of Christ to believe that there is something else to be done, either by us or by a God who might be reluctant to move on our behalf…. When 2000 years ago, our Messiah – Savior – fulfilled a covenant and said,
“IT IS FINISHED!”.
We are not awaiting healing…
it is “by His stripes you WERE HEALED" (1Pet 2:24;Isa53:5)
We are not awaiting deliverance…
but, Our Father,
“HATH DELIVERED us from the power of darkness,
and HATH TRANSLATED us into the kingdom of his dear Son” (Col1:13)
The power of the New Covenant is WHAT HAS ALREADY TAKEN PLACE
IN THE PAST…
in our place,
on our behalf,
so that we may walk in ALL the promises of the Kingdom of Heaven “at hand".
So… when the enemy comes in to try to convince you to move the hand and will of a reluctant God…
remind him that you are NOW A SON of the Living God…
and HIS power has already given you “ALL THINGS THAT PERTAIN UNTO LIFE AND GODLINESS" (2Pet1:3)… and
“that WHICH I HAVE ALREADY, I am holding fast till he comes". (Rev2:25)
So NOW…
As Romans 5:17 says:
I “shall REIGN IN LIFE by one, Jesus Christ”
