The Pearl of Great Price


 


 

“If it be Thy will…..”

 

1 John 5:14–15  

And this is the confidence that we have in him, 

that, if we ask any thing according to his will, 

he heareth us: 

And if we know that he hear us, 

whatsoever we ask, 

we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

 

What is THE WILL of your Heavenly Father concerning your situation?

 

We treat “the will of God" as an illusive thing cast to the edge of the universe…

and then told to go find it…

Like some great cosmic “hide-and-go-seek” perpetrated by an aloof and cruel God.

 

We see the Will of God and His reign or Kingdom rule in our lives as unattainable in our daily life. 

 

We have been taught about “The Pearl of Great Price" and the Kingdom of Heaven as treasure HIDDEN in a field, which, when found, we must sell ALL and purchase the field. 

 

 Well…. Part of that is true

 

In Mtt 13:44 the Kingdom of Heaven is like unto a TREASURE hidden in a field.

 

But the next two verses say, “the KINGDOM OF HEAVEN IS LIKE unto a MERCHANT MAN seeking goodly pearls: Who, when HE had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that HE had, and bought it.

 

In the first example the Kingdom of Heaven is THE TREASURE. 

 

In the second, however, the Kingdom of Heaven is THE MERCHANT MAN. 

 

So… who is the merchant man?  


Our Father… And His Kingdom

 

And for what is He searching?... Goodly Pearls.

 

So… what is the Pearl of Great Price?

 

“YOU have been bought with a price" (1 Cor 6:20; 7:23)

 

HIS WILL is that YOU be saved – sozo – set free, healed, delivered, get on well, prosper, BE WHOLE!

 

YOU ARE HIS PRIZED POSSESSION!!!

 

He gave His only Son for YOU… 

 

His WILL was to put on Christ the curse of death and disease… IN YOUR PLACE…  AS YOU … So that YOU might have LIFE… and that MORE ABUNDANTLY!

 

HIS WILL…

 

YOU HAVE BEEN PURCHASED AS A PRICELESS PEARL…

 

FREED… HEALED… DELIVERED… PROSPERED… AND WHOLE!

FORMING YOUR WORLD

  Forming Your World     Have you been in a place in life where you feel like your world has no form, reason, nor rationale to it… like it is void of meaning or direction… and it seems like the darkness is so deep and thick that you not only can't see, but are so disoriented you have no clue as to which way is up?     How do you get out of THAT?     Gen1:1-2 describes just that scenario, but on a grand universal scale: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. CONVICTION

  CONVICTION   I have frequently heard the phrase, “the Holy Spirit CONVICTED me”… or… “I was CONVICTED by the Lord”.  As a young boy I was taught that God was this big eye in the sky continually watching to see if I was being good… and the Holy Spirit, being on my shoulder, would  speak in my ear to bring that guilt… shaming me back to the right path.the moment I stepped out of line   But… why did Jesus send the Holy Spirit to us?     In  Jn16:7 Christ calls the Holy Spirit “ THE COMFORTER ”. He uses the term, “ parakletos ”, which was used in NT times of an  attorney (lawyer)… someone  giving evidence that stands up in court .   It comes from two words: “ para ” (close-beside), and “ kaleo ” (make a call).
