  PARISTEMI   Lk1:19KJV “And the angel answering said unto him, I am Gabriel, THAT STAND IN THE PRESENCE OF GOD; and am sent to speak unto thee, and to shew thee these glad tidings.” The word Greek “PARISTEMI” , translated here as “STAND”, is word picture intended to paint a scene in the reader’s or listener’s mind of “I stand so close that when I leave… I bear His presence.”   Eph2:13KJV “But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are MADE NIGH by the blood of Christ.”   Can a person be more “ NIGH ” than someone else?   The blood of Christ has made me JUST AS CLOSE to our Father – and with the same access - as everyone else.   Eph3:11–12KJV “… in Christ Jesus our Lord: In whom we have boldness and access with confidence… BY THE FAITH…                   OF HIM! ”   It is BY HIS FAITH in what HE did that we have no more veil… (2Cor3:13-16)   ...

A PLETHORA OF WORDS

  A PLETHORA OF WORDS   I saw a post the other day that read, “Thank you for teaching me about “PLETHORA” … it means a lot!”   Don't use a big word when a singularly unloquacious and diminutive linguistic expression will satisfactorily accomplish the contemporary necessity.   Bahahahaha… TOO MUCH ?   I used to think that if I could explain something from every angle… giving multiple definitions in Greek or Hebrew and the etymology of each word… the listener would finally be convinced.   But… as Paul discovered… arguing daily in the temple didn't do much to further the gospel. After spending years in the wilderness, he returned… encouraging people to retain “the simplicity that is in Christ.” (2Cor11:3NKJV)   “And when I came to you, brethren, ·        I came not with superiority of speech or of wisdom… ·        For I determined to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and Him crucified. ...

WHEN HE PRAYED FOR HIS FRIENDS

  WHEN HE PRAYED FOR HIS FRIENDS   So often we are so consumed in our own pain… entangled in our own problems… wrapped up in our own lives… so introspective and indulged with our own circumstances we don't even realize there are others around us being stolen from… lied to… or destroyed.   For some reason we are solely focused on ourselves.   We have become needy and self-centered... still pleading for someone – a SAVIOR – to free us, deliver us, heal us, get us out of our predicaments… when… all along WE HAVE BEEN SAVED – SOZO – set free, healed, delivered, get on well, prospered, be made whole. OUR NEED HAS BEEN MET (Ph4:19) OUR REDEMPTION HAS BEEN PURCHASED (Col1:14) CHRIST BORE OUR PAIN (Isa53:4) BY HIS STRIPES WE WERE HEALED.
