PRAYER THAT AVAILS MUCH

Image
PRAYER THAT AVAILS MUCH     WOW!  Who doesn't want PRAYER that AVAILS MUCH ( literally : very combative, engaging, overcoming, and prevailing) ?   But we as humans always look for “the formula” that brings about the activation of God’s promises in our life…even though HIS GRACE… AND HIS POWER… HAS ALREADY GIVEN US ALL THINGS pertaining unto life and godliness.     Ja5:16 “The effectual FERVENT PRAYER of a righteous man avails much.”     “FERVENT PRAYER” is the Greek word, “deesis” - an urgent, heart-felt petition arising out of a deep, personal sense of lack, want, or need . It is only translated PRAYER a few times… and translated “entreaties or supplications ” in 1Tim2:1. Due to surrounding words, it’s presented as a word picture of: “a childlike confidence as the heart converses with God.” This verse differentiates SUPPLICATIONS ( “deesis” ) from PRAYER (proseuche – to exchange your thoughts, wishes, and desires for HIS.)   ...

RIGHTLY DIVIDING THE WORD OF TRUTH     2Tim2:15 “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed,  RIGHTLY DIVIDING THE WORD OF TRUTH .”     We have a rough time destroying the old mindset of earning approval or favor of Our Heavenly Father and end up with a confusing mixture… viewing everything through a veil of servitude and performance… trying to prove that we are righteous, holy and somehow worthy to have God listen and approve.      But let's take a closer look at this verse.     ·       STUDY 2Tim2:15 is the only place “spoudazo” is translated “study”.   THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE TRUTH     Jn14:6 “Jesus said unto him, I am the way, THE TRUTH (aletheia), and the life.”     2Tim3:1-7 says, “in the last days…men shall be: lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, truce-breakers, false accusers, intemperate and loose in morals, uncontrolled and fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, rash and head-strong, high-minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God…   Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof :   FROM SUCH TURN AWAY .”   For they “creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,   …Ever learning, and never able to come to THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE TRUTH ”   "of the truth" is one word: "aletheia."   In ancient Greek culture, “ alḗtheia ” was synonymous for " reality " as the  opposite of illusion – properly...
