  DESPISE, FAINT, OR ENDURE     Dealing with correction is one of the hardest things the human ego must learn to  ENDURE .      Fortunately, Hebrews 12 addresses that issue… quoting Proverbs 3:11-12.   “My son,  DESPISE NOT   the chastening of the Lord,  NOR FAINT   when you are rebuked by Him;  for whom the Lord loves He chastens,  and scourges every son whom He receives." (Heb12:5-6)       The author dissects, examines, and then pieces back together how our soul reacts… and then should react…    to  chastisement  -  correction, instruction, rebuke, and reproof...  training .      Verse 1 starts right off explaining how we are running a race and must lay aside everything weighing us down… as well as the particular sin which so  EASILY BESETS US  - [properly, a serious hindrance that " encircles " (hampers) someone who desperately needs to advance. ...
