THE HOUSE OF THE LORD Religion has done something to our way of thinking over hundreds of years. It has affected our language, the way we live, and has become a lens through which we see life. We used to frequently sing a song in our services quoting Ps122:1: “I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into THE HOUSE OF THE LORD ”. It was very upbeat and we would bounce around, clapping enthusiastically, excited to be gathered together for another service “IN THE HOUSE OF THE LORD”. I remember being taught how to act in THE HOUSE OF THE LORD … how to be reverent, worshipful, quiet, respectful… honoring God… because… after all… we were coming into HIS SANCTUARY… …which always referred to the main meeting area.
